| Remove 'Links' from your Favorites |

Please Enter New Tags Separated By Comma's
Or Close If you are like me and hate having the “links” listed in your favorites and have tried the delete method, only to have it reappear when you restart your computer. You can remove it permanently by doing the following: Disclaimer: Warning Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. Before beginning this guide, please do this
Click
then
Type regedit then click

Navigate to the following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar

From the right hand side, locate LinksFolderName, double click on it and delete the value

Now, exit Regedit, and locate and delete the links folder (Right Click on the Start Button, select Explore , then on the left you should see Favorites, click on it and locate the folder Links and click delete)

Would just renaming the "links" word in the registry not work?
