The Application Layer Gateway is a subcomponent of the Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)/Internet Connection Firewall (ICF) service provides support for plug-ins that allow network protocols to pass through the firewall and work behind ICS.

Translation

The service is NOT dangerous. If you use other firewall than Microsofts and you DO NOT share printers, files or computer resources with other computers (ie. A network) you can disable the alg.exe service. however, if you do share printers, files or computer resources with other computers (ie. A network), leave this service alone cause you'll need it.

If you need to set this service to Manual. You can change this by doing this:

Click backupreg_01.jpg then backupreg_02.jpg Type cmd then click backupreg_03.jpg
