…I was thrilled to find this software and wanted to spread the word about it). GOM Player tops the VLC video player by a long shot. It has built in CODECS, Filters and it plays video flawlessly and it's free ( I can't believe that it's free…). Screenshots: Do you agree? Try it out and post comments to this article, I would be interested to hear what others thought of this Media Player. Comments (9)

Hello everyone,
I have GOM Player installed on my system. I think it's pretty good. However, there is another player I believe is better than GOM Player. It's KMPlayer (http://www.kmplayer.com) A list of reasons to choose KMPlayer: 1. Codecs: this is the player that plays everything. I mean EVERYTHING! 2. The lightest interface and application I ever used. It's light, clean, and plays any kind of media you know. 3. It's free! http://www.kmplayer.com/forums/downloadz/vista_live_d63.png Have a great day! xp.boy written by Nik, September 27, 2007

You are right... This is the best media player very...
A few tweaking with the settings and I had this player outputting videos looking like it was straight of a DVD or even HD tv ... absolutely great program... its fast, simple and very easy to use... well worth getting written by SAPP, April 08, 2007
it is good but there is a lack of resolution compare with others like WMP11 or ZUNE

I find that on computers without top of the line specs, GOM often gets a little choppy while playing video. Nevertheless, it is a great player that tops most other things I've tried.

hi , i have read about all your comments and found it really gr8 website
thx and keep it up dear can i ask you one question, i am running IIS on my win Xp pro with sp2,with the web dir as shared , is it necessary to share it in order to run it over intranet ????? how to share folder in xp with password security ??? can u pls specify -------------------------- From Admin: Thanks for the kind words...I have to keep this brief because this is the Commenting section (you really should have posted this question in the Forum) ...The Web dir should be accessible to all those that you want to be able to access it. I believe that you can limit the permissions though (for example, users can only read...not edit). As far as password security, yes I do believe this is possible. You first will need to turn off Simple file sharing. Then right click on the folder that you want to limit access and go to Security, add that user (or group of users) and then select to deny (assuming you want that user to not access that folder). -External and no edges video frame.
-Simple playlist (the most important!)
-no visualization (!!!! yes it is a good feature.)
-Sticky edges (!!!!)
-The perfectly designed OSD.
-Display/change subtitles by just drag and drop on video frame on runtime. (notice: runtime is important)
-Flexible vertical subtitle position by just drag and drop on runtime. (notice: runtime, runtime, runtime...)
-Mouse features: one click pause/play, double click maximize/minimize video frame, wheel volume.
-Keyboard features: left right arrow skip just 5 seconds. (the perfect timing to fast review of video. not annoying like media player, if you miss a word just left arrow and listen it no need to use mouse and wish to find the position).
and many other like playing on desktop background, import any type of skin!!!(every type: wmp, winamp, etc)
sadly the developers are lazy.
