Did you know that Windows XP has the capability to include an Internet Address Bar, right on your Desktop?

To enable this feature do the following:

First, Right Click on the taskbar and uncheck Lock the Taskbar

Right click on the taskbar again (make sure to right click on a blank section of the taskbar, not on any programs), then select Toolbar then Address

Now, click on the divider and drag to the left to show the address bar

Or, if you want, the address bar can be moved to the top of the screen, to do this, click on the divider and drag to the top of the screen

Now , right click on the divider again (see picture) then select Always On Top to prevent windows from opening up on top of the address bar

Now right click on the taskbar again (the one on the bottom of the screen) and put a check mark back on Lock the Taskbar
