Customizing the look and style of windows can give your computer its own unique feel and style. Changing the colors and font sizes can be fun, and can give your windows some zest. (Special Note: For those who have a hard time reading because of the type being too small, you will want to read this guide to learn how to customizing font size and bring clarity to your copy of Windows)

To begin, right click anywhere on the desktop and choose Properties.

Then select the Appearance Tab

Next, under the Windows and Buttonsdrop down menu, select Windows Classic Style then click Advanced

The Advanced Appearance Settings should pop up. It will look something like this:

This is a sample of the various window types (Inactive Window, Active Window etc.). Using your mouse (left) click where I have an X in the below picture. (before you click just notice the area that Ive put a red box around in my diagram (once you click it will change)

After you clicked the red boxed area should change to Active Title Bar. Now you can select the Title Bar colors.

Under Color 1 click on the arrow and select and go to Other.

Now you can select anywhere on the color palette and use the slider arrow located on the right to adjust

Once you have chosen the color hit Ok, then follow the same steps to choose a color for color 2. (Note: when you are making color choices you should notice the diagram picture changing according to what you have changed)

To change the sizing of the Windows Text, simply select a larger number from the drop down menu under Size.

Once you are satisfied with the changes made to the Active Title Bar. You can either select another area from the diagram that you want to customize (feel free to toy around with the various colors, font sizes and font types, dont worry, it is easy to revert back to the default) or if you are done, you can click Ok.

Now Click Apply

and voila windows will refresh and your new settings will be set.

If you ever want to quickly revert back to the default settings, do the following:

Right click anywhere on the desktop and choose Properties.
