Or Close If you own a LCD monitor, then you are all too familiar with the resolution limitation problem. For LCD monitors there is a “recommended” resolution setting for optimal quality and while other resolution settings will work, there is a very noticeable difference in the quality. Text becomes blurry and hard to read. In Windows XP, for LCD monitors, the recommended display setting is to use cleartype. While that setting does help out, it acts like a light switch, it’s either on or off, without allowing fine tuning. Thankfully, there is a Microsoft add-on that will allow you to fine tune cleartype. This is a must for LCD monitors, Download this tool from Microsoft to drastically improve picture clarity. http://www.microsoft.com/typography/ClearTypePowerToy.mspx This tool allows you to make fine tune adjustments that are not otherwise available. Once you have downloaded and installed, a new icon will appear in your control panel:

When you open this tool, you have the choice of either using a wizard, or manually self tuning.
